This week was absolutely amazing. If my heart had a gratitude meter, it would be shooting up to the heavens. This week was just full of blessings! My companion is the bomb. And her name is Hermana Baum. It took us about 5 minutes to become really good friends! She has the exact same personality as my trainer, Hermana Sutherland! We both have the same goals and expectations. We have seen a lot of little miracles in the time that we have been together and know that we are going to see so many! For instance, we went and visited a less active once this past week. We invited her to church and she came! But she brought her whole family who was less active. They stayed all three hours and even were interviewed by the bishop. I was in shock! Miracle! This area is incredible. And it is crazy to think that it might be my last area! Where did time go. Ah. We cover an english and Spanish ward so it is kind of crazy on Sundays :) I love to be called Sister Hubert. It makes me smile knowing that there is another sister Hubert in Canada :) the members here are so organized and on top of it. I have never served in an area like this, so i know I am going to learn a lot! On Friday all the mission leaders had the opportunity to hear from Elder Lynn G. Robbins. Wow, it was incredible. The whole time I was thinking, what did I do to deserve this! He taught us about the principles of agency and responsibility. It was a five hour lecture, but felt like literally an hour. After my companion and I didn't have a dinner, so we treated ourselves to some sushi. First sushi in ten months! I was on cloud nine. It was funny because when we went inside, we saw that they were broadcasting the BYU game! No worries, we sat in a dark corner. Haha I love my companion. And we had a dear baptism on Saturday! I have only known Cowboy bob for one week, but wow! He is truly amazing. I love to see the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ change lives. To teach him, we have to drive through this absolutely beautiful green canyon. He lives with Brother Fry. Brother fry is a vegan health nut who does yoga every morning who lives in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees. Cowboy Bob lives with him and is a horse trainer! He has a horse named Max who he has trained for two years now. He was a mustang when he got him! He always has us feed him when we come. I think of Marny and Abby and all our cousins. It is so healing to be around horses. I feel so healed every time I go there. Then, we teach him outside. Brother fry has this relaxing calming music echoing in his house. This past week, I just felt so much peace as I sat there with sister Baum teaching cowboy bob in the middle of so many trees. The sun was setting, the birds were chirping, and the spirit was testifying as we taught cowboy bob. Everyday is a blessing here in Nogales and I know we are going to see miracles! This week we are on the search to find the elect. Please keep us in your prayers! I know every trial we have has a purpose and there is always hope ahead! "Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation." Hermana Hubert P.s two special shout outs to my Ouma who is getting married! So happy for you! Love you! And happy birthday to my daddio :) thanks for being the best dad ever. Can't wait to stand next to you as you look at those ocean waves.
