Buenas tardes mi querida familia!
I can't believe how fast time has gone! Friday night we received calls
and I found out I am headed to New Mexico! I am so so excited. My new
companion is Hermana Batie. She is an absolute sweetheart and my heart
if full of excitement. She was my companion's companion in the MTC, so
I will be finishing her training! Ill give you a little bit of
information on this gem! She has a golden retriever. (Instant
connection:)) she was a swimmer. She had a mission call to Mexico, but
then became diabetic so she was changed to this mission. She went to
BYU. She loves running. And her spirit is a giant. New best friend!
Well this week was a week that I will never forget. It was hard to say
goodbye to the people In El Dorado, but my heart is just so full of
excitement for the next adventure! My area is called Deming. It's in
the middle of nowhere but it is the cutest little town. It reminds me
so much of Logan Utah!
I would absolutely love to share the miracle of my mission. Sunday was
the greatest Sunday I have had on the mission! It was a Sunday where I
got to see the fruits of our labors. This transfer has been hard, but
days like last Sunday make it all worth it. There is a less active
family here who has been coming back to church. If you would first
look at them, they definitely aren't your classic Mormon family! They
have tattoos covering them and have quite the history. But really they
are the biggest teddy bears! we have been working with them a lot this
past transfer. And the mom got a calling on Sunday as a branch
missionary. She just run up to me right after and said, "I got my
first calling!" She was so happy, I gave her a big hug with eyes full
of tears. She has been carrying around PMG under her arm ever since.
She has a friend living with her who is taking the lessons. Sure hope
that works out. Felix and Monica came as well! They were just a little
miracle to the El Dorado branch here! And now the greatest miracle of
my mission! On Sunday I was able to sit with Hermana Setino and
Hermano Setino. (The less active mother and her nonmember husband)
Hermana Setino came!! :) it was so sweet to spend my last sacrament
there with them. I told them that I was being transferred and that was
really hard. Lots of tears. That night we came to their house and the
spirit was really strong the whole time. We were able to testify of
the truth of the gospel. He is such a dry member... He has such a
testimony of the gospel, he just has little doubts that he has to
overcome. And at the end of the lesson, we invited him to be baptized
and HE AGREED! Oh I wish you could have seen Hermana setinos face! Oh
the joy! She has been waiting for this for 5 years! The spirit was
just so strong. I sure pray and hope that I can go back on the 10 of
July to el dorado. I will walk if I have to!
On the way home, my heart
was just so full and I told Hermana Evans how grateful I was that I
came back on a mission. I can't imagine my life without these people.
I know the Savior lives, and I testify with my whole heart of the
power of the spirit. We are NOTHING without it.
Have a week full of miracles! Please keep Hermano Setino in your prayers.
