That hilarious moment when the baby cow starts to eat your companions skirt
Mi querida familiaaaaaa!
This week was a great one! And I would love to give you a little
update on this pretty little pueblito! This week was a big one for
Ramon! Not going to lie, on Sunday my companion and I started to lose
our hope for him. He was struggling a lot with the word of wisdom and
wouldn't stop talking about his visions. But, this past Monday we were
having a family night with a very special family here in the ward! The
reason why I say they are so special is because the mother and grandma
are from Peru :) the father served his mission in Peru and there he
met his wife! After the family night, the father asked us if he could
come and visit Ramon with us. He had such a humble heart and
recognized that instead of taking the choice to judge, he saw the need
for love.
The next day we went and visited Ramon with Brother Nicoll and Hermana
Nicoll. In the beginning, Ramon went off about one of his experiences
he had had and I began to stress about how brother Nicoll would
respond. But, Hermano Nicoll responded perfectly. Instead of judging
him, he believed and loved him. I will never forget that beautiful
moment In my mission. We sat teaching Ramon as the sun was setting on
a beautiful summer night. My heart was full of gratitude for these two
member missionaries who instead of judging Ramon, decided to be
Christlike and encourage him on the path that he was beginning.
Hermano Nicoll took his wife's hand and testified of the role the
gospel had played in their family. And when I saw this, I just had
this huge desire to one day be like them. Be a member missionary who
not only the missionaries can count on, but God. I love the following
scripture.
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Everyone needs the gospel, because everyone needs the atonement. And
everyone can change through the atonement of Jesus Christ. This whole
week Ramon has kept the word of wisdom! Every time we see him it is
truly amazing to see the increase of light.
I hope you all have a great week filled with light.
