buenos tardes mi familia!
no puedo creer que estoy aqui en ARIZONA! que en el mundo?!
Its like I just saw you yesterday... Or this morning... Oh wait. :) So yeah I guess there isnt much to say other than I am here safe and serving in la obra de salvacion un mas vez! And I am just going to say its SO awesome. Its a completely different mission though that is for sure. Im so excited. My barrio of what I heard is unreal!
So right from the get go Heavenly Father put a missionary experience in my path! Inspired by my wonderful Hermana preachin the gospel all up in NYC-- I put a little book of mormon in my bag. I said a prayer in my head that if Heavenly Father would bless me with an opportunity on the plane I would snatch that baby up! Well, I got to sit by the cutest girl. She was my age at 19. It probably took us about 5 minutes to become pretty close! (The wall breaker was easily when she mentioned that her favorite movie was Lord of the Rings.) We talked the whole flight and we shared experiences that we had gone through. She shared how a couple years ago she wanted to commit suicide but God stopped her. I was able to share a little bit of how the gospel has helped me in my life. I gave her that little book of mormon in my bag! Then the next thing ya know I saw President Passey, Sister Passey, and my two flipping awesome companions (Picture below: Hermana Sutherland and Hermana Martin) waiting for me at the bottom of the elevator. (One was a swimmer in high school and the other is a runner. "Ahhhh the good life".)
Speaking of my father... I was talking to President in the car and asked him about dad. I asked if her remembered anything about serving with dad. The first thing that came to mind was a song that dad always sang in the field. He immediately starting singing it in dads voice. It was a song by a new wave surf band that just came out. Classic. Dads hidden talents are coming out! Looking forward to hearing your beautiful singing voice Elder Hubert. I bet its almost as good as your spanish.
Love you family! I am so excited to be here, it is just so amazing and so wonderful! Until next week!

Buenos tardes mi familia y amigos!
This week has been a beautiul one that is for sure. And a very eventful one. And well, I am definetly not in the Peru Arequipa mission anymore! It is crazy how different this mission is. And okay, the computer that I am using has a broken keyboard, but I only have an hour... so you might have to translate a little!
I am so grateful I came back! I dont even know where to start! I love the mission! I have two amazing companions. In our companinship invintory yesterday we all just talked about how grateful we were for each other. We are all on the same page, it truly is amazing.
This ward here is amazing! I am so excited to work with them in this work.
Spanish is coming back and getting better. One way the work is different here is people know english and spanish. We mostly speak in spanish in the lessons but we can also speak english which has been nice to develop relationships with the members sooner!
I want to share a special experience my comp and I had on Friday. We were out knocking houses and there was a lot of yelling going on down around one house. As we were walking by, the parents ran into the car and yelled, "Go talk with them!" And then drove off. So me and my companion looked at each other, raised our shoulders, and approached the door. We ended up having an amazing lessons with three girls in 8th grade. (2 blondes and 1 brunette. I immediately thought of Marny Clara and I :) ) Well, these girls all had the same mom and different Dads. A very difficult home life. Well, as we started talkin to them, we found out the one one of the girls was baptized when she was 9 because her dad is an active member of the church who lives in Lehi. As we continued on wit the lesson we were able to teach them the power of prayer and how he answers our prayers always. We asked them if they have ever prayed before and they said that something happened last night that made them (as sisters) pray together. They were so interested and had so many questions and even wanted to be baptized. Unfortunetly we were knocking houses for a Zone activity so we had to give hese 3 sweet girls to some Elders. But I hope and pray they can continue on. The Lord always answers our prayers, I testify of this with my whole heart.
This work is amazing. I love you guys bunches!
