Hey there fam :)
This week was absolutely amazing. Deming is a little piece of heaven.
Hermana Beatty and I had this moment when we driving home passing
fields and fields of green just filled with the spirit. I love moments
like that inthe mission when your heart just overflows with gratitude
from blessings!
This week was a great week for our new friend Ramon :) he is
progressing so much and so fast! He carries his Book of Mormon with
him everywhere he goes. We found out this week that he has been
walking about 5 miles to meet with us and has been walking to church.
No worries, we found him a ride! Haha. He also told us this week that
he understood the impression when he got when he felt God told him to
walk to California. He feels that God doesn't want him to walk to
California, but just to walk with him.
We did a church tour with Ramon this Friday and it was so amazing! We
had him sit in the chapel while Hermana Beatty played an arrangement
of "I know that My Redeemer Lives". We asked him how he felt after and
were blessed to witness true repentance by his response. He said, "I
feel sad. I feel so sad I haven't been here for my Savior. He suffered
so much for me. But it's okay, because I am here now." A broken heart,
and a contrite spirit.
On Saturday we had a pioneer activity! Our little branch was in charge
of an activity for about 300 people! It was a lot of work, but so much
fun. Some of our investigators came and loved it! At the end of the
night, Hermana Beatty and I ran out in our maxis to play some futbol
with all the little kids, some leaders, and the elders! (Yeah I still
fail so bad at that sport) but it was so much magic to be out there in
the summer night of Deming! I also found my new best friend. His name
is Neil and he sells eggs for ten dollars. He keeps 5 dollars, but the
other 5 goes to his mission fund see little Neil below! He was like
a little grant Rowberry!
The man in the back, Hermano Quintana, is my father here. Man I have so much love for that man! The branch would fall apart without him. One of the people that has changed my life!
Love,
Hermana Hubert
