Buenos días!
I hope you all had an amazing week! This week was a week of miracles!
There are a couple of experiences that I want to share.
I mentioned last week of our friend that we are working with. He is
older and has been married to a member who served in Guatemala on her
mission. She has been praying their whole marriage that he would one
day accept the message. We have been teaching him and he has been very
willing to listen and learn. He wants to know if this is the true
church. With that, he asks a lot of questions- GOOD questions. (Which
means personal study and comeSi study has been the best!) This past
week we taught him the Restoration and it went really well. Prior to
the lesson, we told his wife that we were going to fast with some
members in order for her to be able to talk with her boss to change
her work schedule so she can come on Sunday's. We also fasted that he
would feel the spirit bear testimony in the first vision. I testify of
the power of prayer and fasting! She talked to her boss and they said
they could change it. During the lesson of the restoration the spirit
was so so strong. After reciting the first vision, I bore testimony of
my experience in the sacred grove and my testimony of Joseph Smith. My
companion at the time (Hermana Lund. We were in exchanges for the day)
bore testimony as well of her experience in the sacred grove. She bore
testimony of how when she was there, she received the prompting that
she needed to go on a mission. I didn't know that! Right after I was
able to bear testimony that Hermana Lund and I had the exact same
experience. We both received our answers in the sacred grove that we
needed to serve a mission. The spirit is amazing! After, his wife was
filled with so much hope. That after years of waiting, this might be
the time when he accepts the gospel into his life! I love that family
so much, they have so so so much potential. I have such a good feeling
about it! Keep them in your prayers :)
This past week my companion, Hermana Evans and I, decided to start a
40 day fast with a family in our ward. It is a fast has been used
among missionaries. You fast from certain things that are keeping you
distracted from the work, maybe something dealing with obedience, or
it can be something simple like diet coke. (My companion needs her
diet coke) We have seen so many miracles in just 2 days! I want to
challenge whoever is reading this to participate. We can all sacrifice
a little more to be able to feel the spirit stronger in our lives. I
have personally felt the spirit stronger and have seen so many
blessings. The Lord wants to bless us! When we fast we unlock the
windows from heaven, so He can.
Yesterday we found a new best friend! Her name is Monica and she was
recently married to a nonmember from Venezuela! They came to church
for the first time and we had our first lesson with them last night.
He really wants to be baptized! Monica is the best! She served her
mission in Germany and is the sweetest.
We are seeing a lot of miracles here in El dorado! I know the Lord is
watching over His vineyard. I know this is His work and am so so
grateful I have had the opportunity to serve again as a misionera!
Thank you to all of you who helped and supported me to get back out
here. It has, is, and will continue to change my life forever. I know
this church is true with all my heart.
Con mucho mucho mucho amor,
Hermana Hubert
