Hello my dear family :) sorry I'm emailing late! We went to the temple
yesterday!
This week was a really good one, full of miracles! It was also a hard
one, así es la misión! It was hard because I had to say goodbye to
some of my dearest amigos hear in Deming. My heart is so full of
gratitude for the time I have had in Deming! I feel like a completely
different person. And I have mentioned this family before, but I am so
truly grateful for the opportunity I had to meet the Quintana family.
A lot of people have asked me, have you figured out why you were
called to this mission? I know there are many reasons, but I wouldn't
have become who I am without President and Hermana Quintana. They
taught me how to work, how to trust in the lord, and taught me how
life can be so beautiful even when it is hard. Today I was blessed
with the opportunity to go to the temple with the branch for pday!
They had an all day Spanish day, so president let us go with our
branches! I couldn't have asked for a better way to finish my time
with the branch in the house of the lord. And I had one of the most
special moments on my mission.
It was absolutely beautiful to walk into the celestial room and see
Hermana Beatty sitting there. We gave each other a big hug in tears to
finally see each other, it felt like I was seeing family. Later I felt
impressed to go thank president and Hermana Quintana. I walked up,
knelt down as they sat in the chairs, and just said thank you for
everything, for being my parents here in Deming. Tears filled my eyes,
as well theres. They squeezed my hand, and didn't let it go and told
me things I will never forget. One of the things they promised me, was
that this wasn't the end with them, it was just the beginning. And our
relationship would just get stronger. It's moments like these that
make the hard things worth it. If you look up through the thorns, you
will find a beautiful rose.
So I am heading to Nogales! I am so excited, I have heard it just as
green as can be. My companion will be training me how to be an Sister
training leader as well! I know I am going to learn a lot this next
transfer and am so excited to make some special friendships!
I love my mission, and I love the Lord. The atonement is real, and it
is truly the most important thing. I have such a testimony of the
power of prayer, I know he listens. The other day I was praying about
the new changes and I was brought back to a memory. I saw myself at
the top of my favorite snowboarding run at Brighton. It was like
Heavenly Father was telling me, this is my last run here in the
mission, just enjoy my last run! At the bottom papa is waiting for me
in the cabin, with the hot chocolate he would always get for me and
Anna. And then buy a kit kat to eat later... For the kids of course.
;)
Love you bunches!
