HOLY HANNAHS! Oh my heavens this is so unreal I cant even describe how I am feeling right now! But first I just want to say how much i LOVE YOU FAMILY! You guys are the BEST, really.
Okay, guys... IM IN PERU! What the heck! Love it love it love it! There are so words to describe this week. So many emotions... haha such a joke. Or should I say chistes. Guys this is so fun! SO hard, but SO FUN. I love love love coming to know my Savior more and more every day.
I dont really know where to start, so I am just going to start with my companera! Her name is Hermana Kingsford, she is from Orem Utah and SUCH an amazing girl. I cant even begin to describe. The Lord KNEW we were supposed to be together. She comes from such a different home life back home, she is one of the strongest girls Ive met in my life. We were talking one night that of course ended up in tears because the spirit was so strong. Her mom is an antimormon and her dad is inactive... I know right? But she has such a strong testimony and such a powerful testimony of prayer. I learn so much for her every day. We are really pushing ourselves everyday, and she is SO patient with my impatience with her somtimes. I need to be better, mostly during lunch time when I finish in ten minutes and she eats in about 30 minutes. haha, but we laugh about it. I just always have to tell her, "Hermana come come!" (Eat! Eat!) But really she is such an amazing girl. Cant even get over it. We both really are trying to push the language so we can hit the field in 4 weeks, she knows like the exact same amount of spanish as me. The Lord knows best!
I LOVE LATINOS. Oh my, LOVE LOVE LOVE. They are the nicest, friendliest, most loving people really. They are also so funny, cant even get over it. All my hermanas in my room.. we are so close already. Its going to be so so hard to say goodbye to them I dont even want to think about it. Our only issue is going to bed on time... I know... Its bad. Me and my companion always just feel so bad because they are just so sweet. There is one hermana in my cuarto that I have never met such a humble loving person in my life. And there is another Hermana that I am so determined I am going to set up with Grant. They were all looking at my pictures and it was so cute they wanted to know if Dan and Keith were single... OH and today we were in central lima walking around after the temple and we saw some hermanas. One of which was white and from Utah. Hermana M.... something. haha, but anyway she saw my name tag and was puzzled. She told me she dated someone with the last name of hubert. I immediately said, "Keith?!" And she was like... YA!!! Small world.
Its crazy how much I can understand already! Here at the CCM they focus not so much on the language but more on the having the spirit and it is SO TRUE. Me and my hermana have a goal to bear our testimonies in spanish to a companionship of latinos every day. So a couple days ago we were bearing our testimonies. After Hermana Kingsford I did and when I was finished I looked over to the Hermana sitting next to me and she was like balling. The spirit was so strong. She then bore her testimony that it didnt matter what language you bare testiomny, Somos hijos de dijos! The Latinos are so humble and I have realized how blessed we are to be in the family we have. One devotional, the homesickness was hurting. The Latino Hermana who sat next to me told me I have no reason to be sad. I should be happy, We are sealed together for ETERNITY. She on the other hand left her family being the only member.
Also there is another sister, Sister Smith, who is an ANGEL. She is going to Arequipa and guess what... SHE IS A RUNNER! We run around the soccer field together and of course she doesnt have the "Anna Hubert" pace but she is just amazing. I hope we have be companions. There are like 5 sisters in my district going to Arequipa and I love them so much already!
This morning we went to the temple which was really cool, not going to lie I was really scared to go yesterday. Mostly because of the homesickness. But I was okay! Its getting better and better everyday!
Guys this is awesome. So hard, but so awesome. Ive come to realize that this is OUR adventure familia! You guys are here with me, so much! Mom I always hear yours and Dads words. I still have to sleep with that picture of you and Dad laughing in front of the San Diego temple. Anna i LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Your testimony is always with me and the spirit always reminds me of the things you have taught me to help others. Dan and Keith who have probably already stopped reading by now because of how long it is thank you for the joural and the picture of Christ. I was struggling one day and fell to my bed, and on my bed I saw the picture of Christ that Keith gave me. It said something along the lines of "No matter how hard it gets... I can always push through because I KNOW my Redeemer lives"!
Yo se que este evangelio es verdad! Yo se que jesuscristo es nuestro salvador, y yo se que familias pueden SER junto for TODO tiempo! I love you guys so much! so so much! Remember this is OUR adventure, not just mine. I always remember that. always!
LOVE YOU and talk to you SOON!
