Hola familia!!
First things first... Dad please stay safe. If you would of gotten hurt... I dont even want to think of that. BE SMART, please please please. Stay away from those lakes!
Thank you for your emails this week, they always mean so much to me! You guys always say exactly what I need to hear, and every one of your scriptures that you shared this week I had used or studied this previous week! The church is true :) So keep them comin!
Okay so Im guessing you probably want an explanation to my subject? :) So on saturday we went out prostelyting again! Which was the BEST experience so far in the CCM. It was so much better than last time. I cant even put it into words. I had a Latina with me and I wasnt really sure how it was going to go because she was so nervous. I dont know why, maybe because I couldnt speak Spanish or something. We are assigned to teach lessons to inactives, so we started out through the calles de Lima! haha and this is where all the fun starts. I guess! I learned a couple things that day... Dont talk to the drunks. The member that was with us told me that it is good to say hi to everyone, but I needed to be more careful. Which I guess is understandable. So we go to an inactive 22 year old member man. Guys, my English is already stugglin! haha! But anyway, so I was going up to shake his hand, but he was going for more lets just say. And before you know it I had been kissed. My Latina was flipping out haha! I didnt even know what to do. She kept on telling me how Im not supposed to do that (like I didnt already no) but I was so caught off guard. All I could come up with in Spanish to her was "yo se.... yo se" Then this guy started to play with my hair! The lesson was going no where until his mother came out. The cutest little old Peruvian lady you ever saw. She was Catholic, of course. But she was willing to listen to our message, and we invited her to church. When we were closing with a prayer I received an impression to just place my hand on her shoulder just for a little. I felt Heavenly Fathers love for her so much! It was so amazing. I love bearing my testimony in Spanish, there are no words. Because honestly all we have to do is have FAITH that He will put the words into your mouth. Yes I bet they dont always make sense gramatically, but the Spirit I know translates my testimony so they can understand it. But I was able to understand like 60% of what they were saying, I am so grateful for that class at BYU! The spirit is so strong! I honestly am SO pumped for AREQUIPA! 13 days 13 days! Me and Hermana Smith are so excited for the day when we can sing "ONE DAY MORE!!!!" (Les Mis)
Yesterday was the coolest experience of my life! I was really struggling in the beginning of the day keeping the motivation but then I had the amazing wonderful beautiful opportunitty of watching a mormon message on Esther. We may not ever know or understand what the Lord has in store for us but all we need is FAITH and COURAGE to push forward. You guys should watch that mormon message its amazing.
So this morning was a little crazy... haha Im a little sick I guess you could say. Ive had diaherria ever since I got here. I thought that was norma, ,but apparently its not. I finally went and talked to the CCM mission presidents wife. Everything is going to be fine I know it! I know I am supposed to be here right now and know everything is going to work out so dont freak out Mom when I tell you that I had to go to the hospital this morning. If you thought IVs were sketch in Utah, imagine them in a little tiny hosptial in Peru! haha, but Im feeling SO much better and they are taking such good care of me! Im in the Lords Hands LITERALLY so no biggie. Last night I got a blessing from Elder Caprio, who knew Elder Walton, he played soccer for Lehi and is my age. It was like a tender mercy because he was able to give me the blessing. Ive got my Arequipa girls, especially my Hermana Smith! But most importantly I have the Savior standing right next to me.
I sent you guys a letter yesterday :) And I havent received any letters or packages. Im just praying that that package comes.
I love you so much familia! Everytime I lose motivation I think that the harder I work the more blessings you get! Know you guys are in ALL of my prayers. Love you!
Love your missionary,
Hermana Hubert
